Guitar Lessons in Brooklyn, NY

At Williamsburg Music Studio, our guitar students learn the music they love, receive a holistic and fundamentally sound music education, and get as much support as they need while learning to practice at home. Learn rock, jazz, blues, classical music, and more, and start playing along with your own customized backing tracks!

The teaching staff at Williamsburg Music Studio is highly educated and accomplished. Our teachers have music degrees from some of the most prestigious music programs in the country, have performed professionally in NYC and abroad, and have taught lessons at a high level for years.

Guitar Lessons For Kids in Brooklyn

Children aged 5-7 take lessons on correctly-sized Loog guitars at our music studio. These are closer to the feel of real guitar than a ukulele, but they still fit your child’s reach comfortably.

Your child can learn in a fun classroom environment, one-on-one with an instructor, or in an online medium where lessons can happen anywhere.

What Will Your Child Learn in Guitar Lessons?

Our young students learn how to play tunes and chords on their guitar right from the beginning (along with backing tracks) – we want kids to start having fun with the instrument as quickly as possible. Your child will also learn how to read notes, understand guitar tablature, identify notes on the guitar strings, identify time signatures, and more!

We want students to become complete musicians, not just guitar players.

Do We Teach Kids How To Practice The Guitar?

Yes! In fact, that’s arguably the most important thing we do at Williamsburg Music Studio. Lesson materials are important, but we want your child to be able to improve on his or her own at home. We will assign practice materials each week, and as your child progresses, we will introduce practice strategies and concepts that will keep them moving forward even when a teacher is not available.

Online Guitar Class For Adults

Here’s an example:

Paulina had been in and out of guitar lessons, and she was nervous about getting back into it. She worried she wouldn’t have enough time but decided to give a group class with us a try!

With our instructor’s method, she was playing songs she knew in the first class and felt no pressure. It was the perfect fit for her.

In this ten-week class, students will:

  • Play songs you know quickly like “What’s Up”,  “Sweet Child of Mine”, “Three Little Birds”, “Yellow Submarine”, “Knockin on Heaven’s Door”, “All Apologies”, and more!
  • Gain a sense of accomplishment by learning the basics used in countless popular songs.
  • Look forward to weekly classes with a supportive and trained instructor.

What you get from the class:

  • 45-minute weekly classes with your teacher and fellow students
  • Weekly videos that lead the student through playing on your own – no need to try and remember what your teacher said!
  • PDF’s of all songs learned in the course

“I’ve had so much fun! I had taken guitar classes in the past but never stuck with them and forgot everything. Thanks to the teacher at Williamsburg Music Studio, I was playing right away. He makes group lessons really fun and comfortable. Plus, he is an experienced teacher who instantly provides feedback and corrects students. There really is a difference between this class and others I’ve taken elsewhere.”
